My eye twitches.
"Great, I only have 3 of those things left." I say as I dash up to him and I kick him in the mouth then I use the same leg to spin and kick his face into the floor.
I do alittle kickboxing jig with my feet and I sneer.
"I've studied several forms of human martial arts and I've added my own personal touches to them, observe." I say, levitating in the air.
I kick him but he dodges and I smash the fire hydrant into the floor with a tremendous crack then I use both my legs to grab him by the neck and I quickly soar into the air.
"Any last words before you're incapacitated?" I ask as I charge a gravity blast in my hands.

Aurum grunted in pain, but still grinned. "Well, I'm not too great with words. I like actions better."
Despite what was happening, Aurum still had stored up some light energy from earlier, and he planned to use it. He held up his right arm, and the light reformed a blinding ball of energy in his palm.
"Well, isn't this poetic? Light versus Dark. I wonder what'll happen!"
He fired his own blast, forcing Yamino to respond in kind. The resulting opposed forces created a massive explosion, engulfing both of them. The blast was visible for miles around.
As the sky cleared, Aurum's ragged form could be seen tumbling back toward terra firma. He landed hard back out in the desert, soon disappearing into the sands. Meanwhile, Yamino was nowhere to be seen, and his shadow minions disappeared along with him.

Admin edit. See my post below for explanation.
Indeed my bodily vessel was destroyed, but I managed to slip back into the darkness by using Aurum's shadow to move away from the blast and I reappear in one of the neighboring towns.
Below, the town of San Pedro was rocked by the surge of contrasting energies, and several buildings and homes were damaged by the explosion. Numerous people were injured, but none fatally.
My mind finally catches up to what has transpired and I get on my knees and I vomit.
"I....hate respawning..." I grunt to myself as dozens of humans rush towards me in bewilderment.
One of them tries to assist me in getting up but I quickly buckle him off of me.
"Get off!" I scream as I manage to get to my feet and I stumble around.
I fall to the floor and I pass out.

OOC: I know, sorry about that. Well, we both "died," so you should have plenty of time to catch up. Hira, we were pretty high up in the sky, so the town wouldn't be destroyed outright, would it? Shaken up, maybe, and a couple buildings would be damaged, but I don't think everyone would be dead. Besides, total destruction would screw up Kan and Zamiel's chance for an encounter here. Considering how little we let them do so far, I think it's only fair that the town remain mostly intact.

Shortly before the explosion....
"You're...." Shakes started to say. "Sh!t. I was h-hoping none of you guys would find me here. Right, so since I've n-n-never seen you before, I guess introductions are in o-order." the Ice Architect said, before extending a trembling hand.
"Name's S-shakes."

The young man looks at this...Shakes, oddly, as he had no idea what he was talking about, or sounded scared about. By now the young man was fully alert, albeit with a headache, "Ok this isn't Los Hernas, how the hell did I get here...last I remember I was falling?" He shakes his head and looks at Shakes, "Oh, Marks Thans" he says before grabbing the hand and shaking, noticing a distinct coldness in his grip.
It was at this point the explosion booms over head, as he heard it the young man, Marks dove for cover, a very human reaction to danger, "What the hell?!" he shouts, the very tips of his fingers sparking yellow and bright sparks, which Marks does not notice.

In the desert, Drago stepped up to Aurums impact point, taking a seat on a rock and talking down to the sand.
"Well Aurum, seems you've gotten yourself in another mishap."
He clicked his fingers making quick sparks as he talked. Not really sure if Aurum heard him, though not really caring.
"Though it is fixable, you may have to learn from this if you want to face your destiny."
Same speech Drago was famed for giving, it was up to Aurum if he'd give a crap though.

Drago's arrival roused Aurum back to consciousness. From under a couple feet of sand, he managed to grumble a reply.
"If I could hold up my middle finger, I would."
Although awake, his power hadn't returned yet, so he was more or less paralyzed for the time being. As one can imagine, this just served to aggravate him more.
"Destiny? I don't have a destiny!"
OOC: Or does he? *dun-dun-duuuun*

ooc: Well, It was a character choice just to be a kind of annoying wannabee mentor type, so your destiny or lack of is pretty much up to you guys.
ic:
"A nice man I met a while back told me he didn't have a destiny either. He also said that if a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his ass when he hopped."
Draco laid on the sand with his ear to the ground to hear Aurum's side of the convo better.
"So, what do you think he meant by that? I tried to ask him but he pushed me in front of one of those horse drawn carts.....I'm sure it was all a misunderstanding though."

"I couldn't tell you, friend."
Aurum tried for a second to move his head, but he was still having no luck.
"Look, if you're really keen on chatting, could you maybe find a shovel, or a dog or something? I'm getting sand in my teeth here."

I wake up in a cargo hold of a train with dimmed red lights.
"Where the hell am I Dockson...?" I ask as soon as I realize I'm in my extraction train I designed for whenever I get incapacitated.
"We're taking you back to Nostrovia HQ sir, you apparently got into it with an Architect that's the exact opposite of your elemental buildup." My Cheif of Sciences and Architect Theory says to me.
I sit up on the stretcher and I look at him.
"So you say, damages?" I ask nonchalantly.
He looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Well sir, you destroyed about 2 Million San Pedro Kards in property and about 70 people in those said buildings were killed, and any and all witnesses were killed by your clean up squad." He says to me, looking into a ledger.
"Nothing to cry about, just leak to the news agencies that it was a Methane gas leak and it exploded, defame the local Police Department and local Utilities, and schedule a press conference stating that I will be aiding the local area with repairs and disaster relief." I say to him as I stand up and crack my neck.
"Yes sir, what about you, how are you feeling?" He asks.
I look at him with a questioned face.
"I'm fine, re spawning just takes alot out of me, you of all people should know that, you research those I bring to you broken and battered." I say, sneering.
"Indeed you do, the indestructible ones are quite resilient aren't they?" He asks me.
"Yes, albeit quite unwise to trifle with those that can re spawn anywhere in just a few minutes time." I answer him.
I sigh.
"Well, contact the PR department and have them do that, as for me I'll be looking for that Aurum, no one matches my power." I say, as the darkness of the cargo hold starts to slowly become sucked into my body, feeding me with darkness energy.
"As you wish sir." He tells me, going to the frontal compartment and closing the door.
I stand up and look around, going to the Armoire and picking out a new suit and putting it on.
"Today is going to be quite a long day indeed..." I say, sitting down on infront the computer desk and turning the laptop on and working on typing a feigned heartfelt speech of the 'disaster' of San Pedro.

"Seems a good idea friend, but I think you would rather not have me blindly jam a shovel blade randomly while you're down there."
Drago used a blast of fire to superheat the surface of the sand, fusing most of it above Aurum into glass and lifting the slab off, leaving Aurum under an easier to shift remaining layer of sand.
"Hmm, I don't think I thought this through fully. What are we going to do with a glass slab?"
He looked the slab over trying to think up a suitable means to use it or get rid of it cleanly.
"Perhaps someone in town needs a window. They do like to keep themselves warm by artificial means, can't self heat like I can, that's too bad."

Aurum just managed to poke his head up through the sand.
"Thanks." He coughed a bit to clear his throat, then looked at the glass slab. "Yeah, good thinking. I never did get the hang of making windows. I always meant to, but you know, it's just one of those things you never seem to get around to."
He looked up at the fire Architect. "So, you got a name, brother?"

Post by Scorpio on Jan 22, 2009 14:34:00 GMT
"They call me Drago." He put down the slab and gave Aurum a hand up. "and you would be Aurum right? I heard about your recent event and thought I should offer my assistance."
"So......any idea where we should start with that?"

"Beats me. I haven't seen the damage yet."
Aurum still had some trouble exerting even ordinary levels of strength. It took him a second to be able to stand up on his own. Once he had his balance, he tilted his head and shook some sand out of his ear.
"How long was I out, anyway?"

"Well, given that you were part of that explosion a while back. A couple of hours."
Drago did the math quickly in his head.
"Probably, I think...I don't really have a schedule, so I never got around to getting a clock."

"That's all? Dang, no wonder I'm still a little woozy. Guess that means I'm gonna be semi-human for a while."
Aurum stared blankly at the sand underfoot, willing it to move or react somehow. It didn't.
"This never happened to me before... Scary, kinda. Feels like I'm helpless, you know?"
Aside from that, Aurum was starting to feel something else. It was a strange, empty feeling, like somewhere another Architect's power was disappearing from the world.
"Heya, Drago, you feeling that too? Maybe we should head back into town. Suddenly, I'm not feeling to safe out here..."
OOC: Since this RP really has nowhere else to go, I'm going to introduce a major plot element pretty soon. Anyone who hasn't posted much and wants to just have some fun with their character, you'd better get it out of the way soon, because this is the beginning of the end.

ooc: Whoops, sorry for holding this up
ic:
"I am getting a kind of bad vibe."
Drago shot a quick plume of fire, it burned just as bright as usual, but was freakishly cold, defying laws of thermodynamics (but what architects didn't?)
"Hmm, I should probably check with my peoples. I'll try and catch up with you later on this. Watch out for yourself friend."
Drago jogged away from the town towards the mountains to the south.

Aurum nodded and waved goodbye as Drago left, then suddenly regretted it as he ran out of sight.
"Oh! Wait! I forgot I need a lift into town!" Sadly, his semi-human lung power wasn't enough to reach Drago. "Aw, dammit."
Aurum looked in the direction of town. It couldn't be more than a few miles, which was usually no problem, except now he'd be walking the whole way. Aurum scratched his head sheepishly.
"Well, at least maybe my powers will be back before anyone else has to see me."
At least one inhuman trait was still present: Aurum felt no real fatigue from the heat, nor would he from the trek he was about to take. He sighed and started walking, thinking about what to do next.

OOC: apparently Oct isn't gonna post, so......
IC:
The young man, Marks would have been mowed down by the clean up squads of the darkness Architect, only to explode into a flash of electricity as he fell, dead, to the ground.
Hours later, as Aurum and Drago were speaking to each other his respawning powers were all but finished rebuilding Marks. They finish their work and Marks appears in a large lighting flash infront of Aurum as he is trekking to San Pedro.
Now the young man is all but howling in pain, electricity striking from his fetal positioned body, which is being riddled with shakes as the electricity bolts from him.

Aurum jumped a bit at the new Architect's appearance.
"Okay... I stand corrected." He knelt down near the younger Architect, or at least as near as the sparks would allow him. How about that? And here I thought I was the baby in the family. "Hey, friend, you okay? Take it easy, man. Breathe. It can't be that bad."
Forgetting his condition for a moment, Aurum tried to place a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. A bolt of electricity hit Aurum. He yelped in pain and was knocked flat on his back.
"Ow! Ah, you're right, that really hurts!" He shook his head and sat up.

Aurum's words would fall on deaf ears though as the young man continues to scream, but it does not appear to be the electricity that is causing him pain. The obvious trauma of respawning has caused psychological pain to manifest itself into physical, thanks to Marks refusal to acknowledge his true self.
That along with this being his first respawn.
Suddenly the screams stop and the young man opens his eyes, as if waking from a horrible dream. He tries to stand but falls back down on his butt, his eyes darting from one direction to the other, "What the...where....what?!" he starts to exclaim, before his eyes land on Aurum, "Don't hurt me!" he half-screams, cover his face with his arms.

Aurum rolled his eyes. "Relax, brother. I couldn't hurt you if I wanted to."
To illustrate his point, he scooped up a handful of sand and let it pour back onto the ground. The sand particles swirled around a bit on the way down, but otherwise did nothing special.
"That's about all I can do right now. If anything, I should be cowering in fear of you right now." He stood up, studying the electric Architect closely. "Hmm... you seem like you're recovering pretty well, all things considered. Well, come on, stand up. Let me have a look at you."

Marks lowers his arms, as if sensing Aurum meant him no harm. He stands himself up, only to lose strength in his legs, again making him fall down, this time to his knees.
He looks up at Aurum, "Who are you? where am I?.....Is this the afterlife?" he asks.

Aurum cocked his head. "The what? I think you've been watching too much television. That stuff'll rot your brains, you know." He held out his hand to help him up.
"No, you're still on Evemada; good ol' terra-firma. Just a new latitude and longitude. Come on, you need to calm down. Deep breaths." Aurum inhaled and exhaled. "Now, collect your thoughts, brother. What happened to you? What's the last thing you remember?"

"Last thing I can remember, there was an explosion , then everyone went crazy. Next thing I can remember is running, gunfire." He feels his chest at 5 spots.
"I....I was shot, I felt it, I........I died..." his voice trials as he breaths long and hard.

"Ah-ha." Aurum nodded. "You're talking about the blast over San Pedro, huh? Yeah, that'd do it..." He stopped at the mention of gunfire. "What? Nobody in San Pedro uses guns. Who in the hell could've been..."
Aurum didn't know of anyone who would be so cruel as to bring guns to a peaceful town. That is, until that day.
"Aw, that sonofa bitch! The dark Architect, it must've been him! I'll bet he did it just to get back at me. I swear, I could just..."
As he gritted his teeth, the sand and pebbles around him started shaking violently. At the same time, his eyes gave off a faint glow.
"Ah, there we go. It's starting to come back." He was speaking more to himself than the other Architect. "Good thing, 'cause as soon as I'm back to 100%, I'm gonna bury that asshole in ten tons of granite."
