It's 3 hits to take down a full level of barricades normally. Loose barricades only need 1 hit to destroy them.
Hits are only counted by melee weapons and claws, I think. Bites and firearms have no effect. The chance to take down one level of barricade is the accuracy of the weapon/body part divided by 2, except in the case of the crowbar, which has it's full to-hit. For zombies, the best weapon against 'cades are claws, and for humans it is the knife, NOT the crowbar. The crowbar is useless and should be traded in for a knife at the first opportunity.
Also, moving.

You could use it, but the knife is a better choice by quite a bit.

You could use it, but the knife is a better choice by quite a bit. Because we all know the knife is flaming twice as powerful in terms of killing wooden barricades.

Hey, if you think about it, a knife would probably be easier to use to try to pry stuff off. Of course, that doesn't really explain why it works better than a crowbar...

It'd hit you in the eye :x

The whole knife working better thing is just an oversight Kevan forgot when he boosted the knife's hit percentage. Otherwise the crowbar would still be better.

Personally, I always thought the Fire-Axe had the best percentage...
