-I moved this after I realize there was a human and zombie IC thread-
OOC-(it's a very lengthy read, but a good one if you are waiting to gain AP)
This is my Characters history and I will most likely add on this as I play.
IC:
6 Months prior:
The convoy rolled through the empty streets, picking up bits of trash and throwing them about in it's wake. As they passed the blockade into the city sounds of small arms fire could be heard in the distance. The soldiers in the back of the HMVEE looked concerned and somewhat distant as they gazed at the battle torn city passing around them. In the passenger seat a man with a cigar in his mouth peered down at a map.
"Take the next left here then continue down for 7 blocks, the last radio transmission we received came from that area," said the man with the map.
The driver, a young man roughly 20 years old replied without turning his head, "That transmission went out two days ago, there's a good chance no one is there anymore Captain."
The Captain nodded, he knew all to well that they were likely rolling up on an empty building or worse the site of a blood bath. But he had his orders to investigate, either way with two days passing whatever happened to cause the radio black out had come and gone.
Captain James Wolf was the name of the Officer in the passenger seat. Formerly apart of the 82nd Airborne Division he was transfered to a Special Ops group upon request. This current mission was given to him a week after his birthday making him 32 years old. He had been first assigned to the Malton Outbreak 3 months after the infection had begun to spread. His main objective was to locate survivors and help move them out of the city.
The HMVEE pulled up along side what looked like a nightclub. "Club Budd" was written on a sign that was now falling from the top of the building. The soldiers got out and formed a perimeter around the outside of the building. There was no lights on inside and the door stood ajar. Captain Wolf exited the HMVEE and looked around, the scene did not look very promising.
"Jenkins, Hunt, Orr your with me, we're going to make this quick, go in, look around, leave," commanded Wolf.
The four of them moved slowly towards the building, holding their weapons at the ready position.
"I think I saw movement in one of the windows Sir!," whispered Orr looking at the window on the right side.
"Keep steady, there might actually be a few survivors still in there," replied Wolf.
As they entered the door any hope of finding the group responsible for the transmission diminished. The place was in ruins and the smell of rotting flesh was overwhelming. In the main room of the club a bar spread out to one side and a dance floor lay in the middle surrounded by tables. In the middle of the dance floor were three dead bodies, one more sitting at the bar. The sound of a Radio set at the bar crackled in the otherwise silent building.
As Wolf reached the victim sitting at the bar the cause of death seemed to be suicide. A pistol lay out on the bar next to the victim who had poured himself a shot of whiskey before taking his own life. There was bite marks on his arm, as if he had been picked at by scavenging infected, the maggots crawling in and out indicated this had been some time ago.
The victims on the dance floor however looked as if they had been over powered in the act of defending the building. Weapons still lay in some of their hands, most of them completely empty of ammo. Bite marks riddled the corpses on the ground and it seemed that there was more weapons then corpses indicating some of the deceased had decided to get back up and move on since the attack.
As he reached down for the wallet of one of the deceased, a man who looked to be only in his early 20's, he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. Turning he peered into a dark corner where something seemed to be shifting back and forth. Drawing his weapon he moved forward.
"Identify yourself!" demanded Wolf as he inched towards the movement slowly. But no response came to his orders. Whatever this thing was it was not moving towards or away from him, but rather just swaying back and forth.
He raised his gun to his aiming eye as he approached the corner now only about 4 feet from the thing. He moved forward another foot.
A blare of noise came over the radio set at the bar, "Delta 10 Romeo this is Delta 6 what is your status over!?"
The noise from behind caused Wolf to lurch forward and knock over a table, the thing in the corner moved forward at him! Wolf had emptied his pistol clip before pushing the body off him.
A length of rope still hung around the body, it became apparent as he got up that the other end had been tied to the table he knocked over. The victim, a 32 year old female, had apparently hung herself in the corner of the room, when he knocked the table over the poor soul's body had come undone and fallen.
Trying to catch his breath and slow his heart rate, CPT Wolf reloaded his pistol slowly and turned back to the center of the room where his men looked at him with a sense of panic.
"False alarm, go back to your investigation," he wheezed.
The men split up, Orr and Hunt went to investigate the restrooms while Jenkins moved into the small kitchen in the back. Wolf moved towards the stock room where the door's lock seemed to have been ripped off.
As he entered the stock room the smell of rotting meat became even worse. Food that had been stored in here had gone rancid and the presence of two bodies was not helping. As he moved across the shelves looking for supplies or signs of life he began to hear a shuffling in the room. Whirling around he once again drew his pistol. But in the dark room nothing seemed to move.
He slowly began to edge his way across the center of the room back towards the entrance, his nerves were starting to get to him. As he passed the two bodies one of them reached up and grabbed a hold of his leg, at the same time he could hear gunfire from another part of the building. The zombie tried to pull itself up his leg, baring it's teeth at him. Just as it went for the bite he put a bullet in it's head and kicked it wildly off his leg.
Running back into the main room he saw Jenkins being pushed over the bar by another undead. His throat had been torn out and he was now firing wildly into the air more out of impulse then any attempt to kill his assailant.
Hunt and Orr had emerged from the bathroom and began to fire upon the zombie that had killed Jenkins. To his horror CPT Wolf saw a zombie emerge from the women's room just behind Hunt and before he could bring his pistol up to fire it bit into Hunt's shoulder.
Orr turned and fired a wild shot out of surprise at the zombie which caught Hunt in the arm causing him to cry out in pain. The zombie released Hunt who fell to the ground cursing and leaped onto Orr latching onto his cheek and drawing away a length of skin. Just as this happened the sounds of gunfire erupted outside the building where the HMVEE waited.
CPT Wolf ran forward and slammed his shoulder into the zombie, that had begun to bite and tear into Orr, sending it flailing back into the women's bathroom. Orr's eyes rolled back into his head as he hit the ground and began to convulse for a moment before going still. Hunt however was wailing in pain. Wolf moved forwards and grabbed onto Hunt's utility vest and began to drag him across the floor to the main entrance. Looking up he saw both the zombie he had shoved and another emerging from the Ladies room, the zombie that had killed Jenkins was getting back up and moving towards them.
Outside things had descended into chaos. The remaining men were currently firing wildly at what appeared to be a wall of zombies. Many had begun to crawl over the HMVEE where his driver was firing frantically out the doors to keep them off while trying to start the vehicle. One of his men turned to shout an order and was suddenly grabbed and dragged into the mass of undead, screaming and firing into the air. Two more soldiers began to move towards the HMVEE. As Wolf watched the mass of zombies encircled the vehicle and began to move in towards his men.
The driver threw his pistol at one of the creatures and began to fumble with the HMVEE's controls. The HMVEE sputtered and for a moment the engine sounded as if it would turn over, but then stopped and went dead. One of the two soldiers stopped and had pulled a grenade from his vest and moved to throw it into the mass of zombies who had moved between them and the building. Just as he pulled the pin a zombie broke from the ranks of the group and leaped on him digging his teeth into the throat of the man. The grenade flew from his hand backwards and rolled under the HMVEE. Before Wolf or the other soldier could say anything a deafening explosion came from under the vehicle tipping it onto it's side.
As the driver began to pull himself out of the window the zombies surged forward onto the vehicle covering it completely in a mass of undead movement.
CPT Wolf grabbed Hunt and began to run down an alley next to the club as the last sounds of gunfire seized within the mob.
