I just watched Diary of the Dead, the new straight-to-DVD Dead movie by Romero, and I've got to say, it's pretty good. Has anyone else seen it?

Huh. Never came to our theaters, I guess the showing wasn't widespread.

I didn't even know it was released theatrically here.

Well, an article I read on it said that Romero wanted to keep it low-budget and under the radar like the first film. I figured that meant straight-to-DVD.
What was your favorite part? MIne was the last where they were having target practice.

I have a lotta gripes about the film's acting and several painful clichés.
But beyond that, I really liked it and have already seen it twice and a quarter.

Yeah, the acting wasn't very good, but it was still 20x better than the next film with its budget. I think it was 100,000 dollars total or something like that.
Some of the cliches were pretty bad, yeah. A jaded, British professor? Who da thunk it.

The unmanned, fallen camera somehow perfectly catching EVERY plot-important/just-to-show-off-the-gore moment? Bah.
Still, I love the originality of the series (Romero sticks true to the classic incarnation of shambler. I like that. A lot. If I could turn it into a gender unspecific bunny rabbit I'd have IG brutally rape it. Ya._)

Okay...
I rented it from Blue Ticket, and it. Is. AWESOME!
Okay, I'll admit, it had some problems, but it was still masterfully done.
And for everyone who hated it....
It could've been Land of the Dead Mr. Romero, what in the name of God were you thinking?

I really liked Land of the Dead. Weak acting and...weird dialogue (Romero seems to be stuck in the '70s...I mean it worked up til Dawn, but now...I mean seriously, who says "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph" when it's much quicker and just as much--if not more--effective to just say something like "Holy SHIT"?)...but I liked it. The premise was tight, the whole post-apocalypse city of chaos thingy, not to mention John Leguizamo, and well, ya. =]

My parents say Jesus Mary Joseph all the time. Guess I live in the 70's...

Reminds me of that movie "Semi-Pro." I realllly hope you can see me in the crowd scenes. I don't know why, but for some reason I'm very proud to have been a part of that movie XD

Naw, it was pretty much a field trip for my high school drama class.
But not only did I get to see some cool celebrities and hold my "Go Tropics!" sign upside down in like, 16 takes, me and my homey raided the catering tables every 15 minutes...bomb ass raisin bagels. XD
