David paused as he heard a voice behind him.
"He must be using AP or EMP rounds, you cant charge a weapon unless the breech is clear and a new magazine is placed in. That SOB must have been hiding!" David thought to himself as he slowly raised his hands to neck level and turned to see the man who held a bullpup rifle aimed at his face.
David slowly lowered his left hand to his knee and tapped a few hidden keys before raising it again.
"SOCOM must be having trouble if their sending green operatives like you out."David said, hoping to get a rise out of the kid." Who told you to find me? SOCOM itself or one of the three letter agencies? I've killed enough of both to be on their most wanted lists." He smiled underneath his visor.

Jumper:
"You don't really need to know buddy, just do as I said or I will exercise my authority" I say menacingly, ignoring any attempts to agitate me.
"Now, drop your weapons and disable your systems, or I pop a round into that left knee of yours" I say holding my rifle, aiming for the joints.

OOC: And again, controversy arises. Okay, I'm mediating this in PMs right now. After this post, I'm going to recommend Kan and roman refrain from posting until this is sorted. It'll make it easier to maintain continuity.
IC:
After a few minutes of climbing, Con stopped just above the passage where Misaki and the other agents currently were. He heard a beep in his ear.
"Snake?" he asked quietly.
"Who else?" Snake's voice responded. "I just picked up something a little out-of-the-ordinary on Dragon's camera. There are two more agents down there. One looks like Blacklight attire, the other one..."
"Yeah?"
"I don't have his real name, but I know his face. He's a rogue agent, wanted all over the world. I guess our intel was right about him being in Venezuela."
"So?"
"Well, you can't let him get away! Intel on this lake of gold business is great, but we'll go down in CIA history if we bring this guy in at the same time."
"Now you want me apprehending fugitives for you? What am I, your servant boy?"
"There's a big reward. I'll split it with you, 60-40."
Con went silent for a second, weighing the options. "...Am I the 60 or the 40?"
"The 60."
"Alright. But I'm not making any promises." Con ended the call and dropped down into the passage. He unclipped the line and backed into the shadows, keeping his distance for now.

Jackal:
I clip myself to the zipline and fastrope down the hole. I squeeze the rope as I near the bottom and land with a whisper, grabbing my weapons and shining the light 360 degrees. I notice the lack of Con as I look around.
"Hmm better anyway, don't want to have to kill him" I mutter to myself before starting down a nearby tunnel.

David stopped smiling underneath his helmet. "Not as green as he looks, then..." He thought to himself.
He reached to his chest with his left hand, to show he wasn't going to grab his XM8, and pulled the strap holding the weapon to him off.The XM8 fell to the floor.Keeping his right hand raised, David reached his left hand to grab his Glock. Pulling it from its holster slowly David decided to see where this was going.
"So, how do you plan on "Capturing" me, transporting me, or guarding me?" David said as he bent down and laid his sidearm on the floor.
Unarmed, and with the tamper system inactive, David stood facing the man with his hands at head level.

OOC: Writer's block, I think. Or just busy with other stuff. Plus, we kind of have to rely on Scorp to keep the exploration of the temple moving, and there's not much chance he'll want to advance things when Rei's off gallivanting about in the real world.
But, if you really want to keep going, I suggest you go poke him.

ooc: Now you wanted me to explore the temple? I mentioned before that I gave others the chance to do the major exploration because I was getting complained to for always being the central storyline in the RPs. You guys have a whole temple and underground area to make up as you go. So while I'll still move PATRIOT around you guys can still go places.
I'm not yelling nor angry btw.

PATRIOT found his way back out of the caves and retrieved a portable communications set from his truck.
"Too many variables here, time to weed out the weak from the strong."
He sent coded messages to several factions, to a venezuelan guerilla faction telling them about a govenrment outpost being set up in the caves, to a group of local pirates telling them of a rival drug running group in the area, and the same message reversed to the drug runners.
Hopefully they'd make their way into the caves connected to the temple and clean out the area.

Name:Lucien Galtier Age:23 Height:5'10 Skills:Disguise, hand to hand combat, stealth. Affiliation: Balance Bio: Lucien grew up in french Canada. He came from a farming family, but decided to join the military at 18.Lucien was a easygoing, likeable man untill his unit was killed, and he was captured.
Lucien escaped by breaking the chair he was tied to over a guards head and escaped rather easily in a disguise. But not before he assassinated the second in command of the guerrillas, and set several charges inside the armory where chemical weapons were being stored. The series of tunnels he was held in still has a lethal level of Sarin gas.
Balance was able to intercept Lucien and forcefully recruited him into their organization. He has been sent to Venezuela to retrieve David Webb by any means necessary.

After sitting for a while, Chaz finally got up and faced Abe.
"Yo, man, I don't think this British guys is coming back any time soon. I say we just head inside and do our job already."
Abe's gearhead, Cabrennez, spoke up as well. "We have been waiting out here a while, Abe. We might as well get stated."
Abe, still unsure, looked to the folding table where the research team was sitting, poring over some parchment and charts. They looked to each other, and gave a mumbling agreement.
"All right then. Chaz and Cabrennez, you'll guard the camp. Ike, the science team, and myself will head into the temple. From there, Mr. Wilkes has the lead. Everyone gear up, then we'll head."
The expedition party moved into action, gathering up supplies and loading up their packs. Abe and the rest of his Panhandle crew pried open the crates the helicopter had brought. The first contained delicate research equipment, for on the spot analysis and even dating. The other contained an assortment of weapons: A pair of AK47s, 3 Remington shotguns, 2 bolt action hunting rifles, and plenty of ammunition. Abe pulled out a shotgun and a bandolier of shells, whilst the other weapons were divied up among his team.
Abe turned to the science team with a rifle in his hand. "I know we're being payed to protect you, but if any of you would feel safer with a gun, let me know."
The science team gave mixed messages, ranging from simple unsureness to, in Wilkes's case, disgust.
"We are men of science and research, Mr Mitzen, not barbarians! You may keep your clubs and knives, we won't be needing them!" With that said, Wilkes ushered his team to follow him into the temple. Abe gave a similar gesture to Ike, and they headed in.
OOC: I'll find the body in the next post, this one got a little long-winded.

Jumper: "Don't worry about it, I got it covered" I say before pulling my shoulder back and bringing the butt of my rifle across the man's head, the strike aided by my primitive strengthening cloth. The man seems to collapse under his own weight, I toss a locater beacon on him where he can not find it or get to it, so even if he wakes up, I can find him and capture him, and if not...well he want be able to hide unless he ditches the suit. "Lights out Sally" I say before walking away, deeper into the temple's underground. ~~~~~~~~~~ Jackal ~~~~ I continue down the tunnel, my combat torch shining bright, I come into a large chamber, on a ledge above the floor. Now I never bothered to learn about the Aztecs in school, but it didn't matter. I hear voices below me, both familiar, I hear a male voice say something about a sacrificial chamber. I look and see the two people, and have to stop myself from groaning, "Misuke" I mutter. If I run into her I am gonna have a tough time, but...the other, god what was his name....Adrian Drake I believe. Damn this could complicate things, I am sure about Misuke and what she would do, but Drake, not so sure... I duck behind a statue, watching and listening, if I need to, I can take Misuke down before she becomes a problem, I know she wouldn't hesitate to do the same, the only reason I wasn't popping a piece of lead through her skull was because of Tom's reports, she could prove to be a vital aid against Blacklight. OOC: Nothing against you Rei, but Jackal has a shoot on sight on him, I mean you would think about taking out a possible problem like a superpowered woman trying to kill you to if you were in his position.

"We are men of science and research, Mr Mitzen, not barbarians! You may keep your clubs and knives, we won't be needing them!"
Lucien Galtier smiled smugly at "Mr Mitzen" echoing the rest of the scientists. After he HAHO jumped into the jungle, Lucien had put on the clothes he had been supplied with. They matched up perfectly for the hiking clothes many of the group wore. Balance had sent him to capture David Webb and get him out of the country by any means necessary. The MP7 in his pants was filled with armor piercing rounds for that purpose, and Lucien carried more clips in his pockets.
As the lead scientist led the group to the temple, Lucien wondered if this was such a good idea, though quickly reminded himself that his family's lives depended on him doing this.

David
"Oww." David thought to himself as he mimed crumpling to the ground. He heard the ki- man threw something at him.It stuck to the small of his back where his chest piece met his "Ass protector" as Jonathon liked to call it.
"Hmm, magnetic. Probably a tracking device.Maybe he's another agent?" David thought, watching as the man walked nonchalantly away. "Ass****." He muttered, starting to feel a migraine coming on.
David waited for 10 minutes before rolling to the side and picking up his XM8.He kept it aimed at the passageway the man had gone down as he retrieved his pistol, returning it to its rightful spot in his holster.
He sat down in a dark corner and pulled off his backpack and helmet. Searching through the former, David found a small field medical kit.Within he found what he was looking for.A small glass container of PainAway, the aptly named painkiller that was already in use with GSG 9.David removed his shoulder armor on his left arm and slipped the syringe into the container, drawing out a "hit" of the potent drugs within. He relaxed and injected himself, then waited as the pain faded into the background.
He put his armor back on and sat back, helmet at his side as all his aches and pains, most importantly his headache, started to fade.
David put his helmet on and slung his backpack over his shoulder. He began slowly sneaking down the passageway he had cleared, deciding to wait to remove the beacon untill he was safe. Before then, that agent would have to come back and try to get him sometime. When that happened... then David would be ready to take him down.

And so, the team made their way to the main entrance of the temple. Abe had point, with Wilkes walking closely behind with what looked like a building layout, in the classic blue. The previous team had cleared a path through the temple, but many traps were still active. The map was their key through.
Ike, in the rear, yawned furiously. Abe realized he and his team hadn't gotten much sleep, especially the drivers, who were now in the expedition team. Looking back, he saw that Ike had grabbed an AK with a vest full of magazines. He also noticed several round lumps at Ike's belt.
"Ike, are those hand grenades?"
Ike looked around, puzzled, and with a flash of realization touched his belt. "Yeah, there was a box of them in that big crate. I took a few."
Wilkes, who had begun to look at Ike at the mention of hand grenades, threw his hands in the air. "Did it ever occur to you we're heading into a several-thousand-year-old temple??? Lord, man, you'd collapse the whole damn place! Mr. Mitzen, have your man put them in his pack, will you?"
Abe grunted, then gave Ike a 'get-on-with-it' sign. He undid his pack, then stuffed 4 of the lumps into his pack. When he was finished, the party moved on, unaware they had taken on a straggler in the slight confusion.

Con lurked in the shadows further down the passage, watching the Jenkins and the other agent.
Well, aren't you the popular guy, Con thought to himself as he approached the agents. He was actually kind of glad to see an old acquaintance from Blacklight. At the same time, though, he wished he didn't have to deal with the competition.
Whatever. This guy isn't going anywhere yet, so Jumper's not really in my way. In fact, he may have just done me a big favor...
Con had seen Helljumper placing the tracking device. Unless he missed his guess, the device used a radio signal to communicate its position. And Con happened to know someone who was very good with sophisticated radio equipment.
---
"You want me to hack a Blacklight tracking beacon?" Snake asked. "A little notice would have been nice. It's not exactly a five-minute job."
"Well, I just found out myself," Con responded in Snake's earpiece. "Anyway, I'm not saying drop everything, but Dragon's keeping an eye on the escape route in case of another cave in, and I've got a lake of gold to find before anyone else, so a little help tracking the guy with the bounty on his head would be nice."
"Alright, I'll see what I can do. I'll call back."
Unfortunately, Snake already had another problem to deal with. A few minutes prior, he had directed Albatross to fly back toward the cliffs, hoping to find the caves connecting to the temple. He found them, but according to the images Snake received, he wasn't the only one.

Lucien
"Hand grenades!? What the hell have I gotten myself into?" Lucien thought to himself, watching as the man, Ike, stuffed several M 67's into his backpack. "Maybe I can use those two's rivalry to stop the expedition." Lucien thought about Mitzen and the lead scientist."No, I could use them if any more trouble shows up." He decided, eyes furrowed in thought.
"Lets just see how far we can get before they realize they have an extra scientist."

David
David continued slowly stepping through the long hallway, taking a long drink from his drinking tube as he walked. His XM8 was being tightly pressed against his shoulder and David kept his eyes moving around, searching for any hiding place or cover in case any of those four other parties came a knocking. He had removed his ACOG scope and placed it in his backpack. At the almost point blank ranges of the temple corridors, he would have done better with a SMG.
David activated his night vision system and instantly turned it back off."I'm an elite black operative wearing a suit of powered armor, and yet I'm afraid of spiders." David thought to himself, trying not to look at the roof of the tunnel, which at the moment was completely caked with creepy crawlies.Mostly tarantulas it seemed, but many black widows scurried along the walls.
"Now I know what that crunching sound is" He thought, wincing.

"Well, I suppose we can go towards the holy man." I say, activating the chest flashlight.
I stab the bronze sword into the heavy slab infront of us and it crumbles when I twist it.
The light bleeds through the wide opening and it illuminates enough to show us a large angular decent, like a tube going down.
I step back, and I open my palm and motion invitingly to the hole.
"Gaijins first." I say, smiling.

The temple was a marvel of ancient engineering. Abe couldn't directly identify what civilization's building style it was, though he would later find out a little bit of every Mesoamerican culture had gone into it. The area around it was wildly overgrown, as if nature itself did not want the place discovered. However, the area the previous team had cleared was clearly visible. Eroded hieroglyphs covered the entrance.
"Alright, then..." Wilkes said in his distinctly Southern drawl, "...this map should show us safely to the point where the last team left off. From what I've gathered, they hit a dead end that should have led to some sort of chamber. I couldn't say what was in it, and none of their records touch upon the matter, but it must have been important..."
Wilkes continued with his briefing, while Abe felt a tap on his shoulder. It was Ike.
"I have to take a picked wiss, back in a second." He retreated into the brush, completely out of sight. Ike had a thing about privacy.
Wilkes continued on with his speech, discussing with his science team mundane details Abe didn't care to contemplate. After about a minute he heard Ike's voice yelling through the foliage.
"Hey, boss, you better come look at this!" Ike shouted. He sounded urgent, but not warningly so. Abe obliged, and headed off in the same direction.
The foliage was very thick even here. Abe couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of him, but he could hear Ike mumbling. At last, he pushed through to where he was.
"Yeah, Ike, what do ya-"
That was when he saw the tan boots sticking out of the underbrush. It extended from underneath a large branch brimming with leaves. Abe moved it.
"Aw, damn, he's Panhandle." Abe frowned. Panhandle had sent a few cursory guards ahead to guard the temple, but no one had said anything about any going missing. A semi-automatic rifle lay beside him.
"Ok, Ike. Here's the plan. We're not gonna tell the research team. This is what we're here for, right? We've got guns, we've got people, and whatever poacher did this won't go up against a group armed with high firepower. Radio base and tell them to keep alert, but otherwise we keep moving. Got it?" Ike nodded
Both went back to the party at the temple entrance. Wilkes, having finished his briefing, looked impatient. "Aren't you two supposed to be doing a job or somesuch instead of playing hide and go seek in the woods? My colleagues and I-" which he said with very little force, mostly because he didn't even know the names of his colleagues, "-have some very important discoveries to be making, and you dragging your feet is doing very little to help the matter. Now, let's move already."
Abe took front again, unhappy about being pushed to second place and even unhappier about not being able to do a damn thing about it.

PATRIOT watched the albatross circle the area. Wether it had seen him or not, he'd be better off removing it. He raised his hands and started firing high voltage bursts of electricity skyward.

"Crap," Snake said to himself. "I've been spotted. Better retreat."
He order the Albatross to fly back towards the temple and find a place to land and recharge.

With its creator occupied elsewhere, Dragonfly had to rely on its own simple AI. Being easily distracted by lights and movement, Misaki's flashlight immediately caught its attention. Remembering its last orders to stay out of sight, the little robot discreetly crawled across the ceiling toward the light.

Lucien
"Hey, boss, you better come look at this!"
Lucien looked curiously at Mitzen. It sounded like "Ike" had found something, from the urgency in his voice. It was subtle, but it was there. As Mitzen started walking quickly through the undergrowth, the lead scientist crossed his arms and checked his watch, obviously annoyed at having to stop his speech about "Protecting the cultural heritage of a treasured relic." How fun.
As Mitzen walked back with Ike in tow he seemed to force a small smile at the scientist."Something is wrong..." Lucien thought as the scientist started to berate Mitzen.
David
Hearing a man's voice, David leaned into the wall and stopped.
" -r husband puts up with you."
David heard a few footsteps in what seemed to be a chamber ahead of him. He slid down the wall and pulled a fiber optic camera from his belt.He twisted the wire so it would turn around the corner and looked to the lower right of his visor, where video feeds were displayed.
He saw one person with what looked like a bow and arrow, plus one blue signature."Pretty nice piece of gear.Temperature regulating undersuit." David thought.Normally the suit would be invisible, but in the cool rooms of the temple the cooling systems made it slightly colder than the surrounding rock. It would be pretty helpful to have in a jungle, though.
As David watched the first man walk through a whole in the wall, the other man, or maybe a woman? Turned and looked through the chamber.
"Hope they didn't see the camera." David thought, silently pulling his Glock free from it's holster.

OOC: Alright, I've got something that I hope will put us on the fast track to ending this thing. Grig, as your team seems to have some explosives, I'd appreciate it if you'd follow suit and start making a mess.
IC:
Once the Albatross had landed, Snake resumed monitoring the temple interior. Unfortunately, things seemed to have gone quiet for the moment.
Suddenly, there were shouts and engines revving nearby. Snake turned around in his seat, facing the direction where he thought the noise was coming from. Just then, two jeeps full of men emerged from the jungle. They appeared to be Venezuelan, but Snake couldn't tell their allegiance. What he could tell was that they were well armed, and none too happy to see him.
"Oh god..." Snake's face went pale. One of the men in the first jeep started firing at him. Snake ducked, his thoughts racing. What would Tyler do to get out of a jam like this? Keeping low, he grabbed the pistol under his seat, which up to now he'd hoped he wouldn't need. He opened the passenger side door and half-jumped-half-fell out onto the ground as bullets loudly smacked into the jeep he'd just been sitting in. Snake got to his feet, still carrying the pistol and his robot controls, and started sprinting for the only decent hiding place he could see: the temple interior. He slipped in through the opening in the wall and ran blindly down the darkened hall.
One of the Venezuelan men, whom Snake guessed must be their leader, yelled orders out to the other men. They quickly parked their vehicles and charged into the temple after Snake, taking their weaponry with them. Once inside, the first man lobbed a grenade down the hall, hoping to get lucky.
---
Con was about to close in on David the rogue, when suddenly he heard a blip in his earpiece, followed by a lot of muffled noise.
"Ty!" Snake's voice was far too loud. Anyone who didn't know Con was there before certainly would now. "They're after me! They've got guns, and I think th-"
The message was suddenly cut off. There was an abrupt explosion somewhere in the distance, followed by several more slightly closer. Before Con could determine exactly where they'd come from, he heard a familiar rumbling sound. The ceiling above him started trembling.
"Shit." Con instinctively jumped back from the coming collapse. Unfortunately, he'd neglected to notice the collapse had already started, and not where he expected. The wall behind him gave way along with the ceiling, and Con tumbled backward into another passage. The next thing he knew, he was sliding backward down a steep incline. He rolled over and kicked his feet out in front of him, trying to slow his descent. He flinched as tiny pebbles were kicked up into the air, some flying right at his face. Covering his face with his left arm, Con fumbled around for his knife with his right, then tried to slowly stab it into the rocky surface, hoping to further slow his descent.
Then, just as abruptly as his downward journey had started, it came to a stop. Con saw it coming just in time, and braced himself as he slammed into a large rock. Panting, Con quickly tried to assess the situation. He'd hit the rock pretty hard, but apparently not hard enough to break any bones. Just hard enough that he'd be sore as hell for the rest of the week. He groaned and started to stand up.
The nearly vertical shaft he'd slid down opened onto yet another chamber, even darker than the last. Wanting to avoid any more sudden falls, Con put his knife away and took out a tiny glow stick. He cracked it and tossed it forward into the darkness. To his surprise, he heard a small splash.
"...Woah."

The drone had seemingly retreated, so PATRIOT had gotten back to searching the tunnels again. Every so often he'd run into a few of the guerillas he'd lured in to thin out the opposing forces, easily knocking them off the walls and moving on.
sploosh
He picked up the noise and started scanning for it's origins. Any liquids were his best lead. He narrowed it down to a tunnel with collapsed rocks at the end.
PATRIOT made his way over and started pounding on the blockage.
***************************************************
"Hey, you hear that?"
Drake heard a splashing noise, followed by pounding. He followed the sound to see the machine from earlier breaking through rocks into another area.
Turning back and motioning for quiet, Drake decided the best option was to let anyone else do the heavy work and pick off the survivors.

David turned his head sharply at the sound of an explosion. He heard slight grating sounds, like rocks hitting together. "Frag grenades..." David thought, turning and sneaking away from the odd pair in the chamber ahead. He heard several more of them, then a hurried voice. He decided to keep moving stealthily, he wasn't going to get held up in the same chamber twice.
He was halfway back through the long hall when he heard what appeared to be a snake hissing at him. David winced, then switched to thermal again, scanning for anything venomous. All he saw were spiders, lots and lots of spiders, before hearing a sharp crack, then a plop of water.Or gold.
He started running to where the sound came from, the spiders crunching beneath his feet with every step." Gotta remember to wash these boots twice." David thought. He reached his destination in a few seconds, and saw a gaping hole in one of the walls. He reached up and tapped his helmet again, activating his light gathering function , then saw a small tunnel leading into blackness. At the very end of said tunnel, David saw something move.
He quickly holstered his glock and drew his XM8, then put down his backpack and pulled out the climbing gear he had brought. David fired a rappel hook into the wall near the top, then clipped one end of a harness to his suit, and another to the hook.
He put his backpack back on, then stepped into the tunnel, having to almost lay down in order to fit. He kept his back against the wall/floor, moving slowly and carefully towards the bottom, rifle at the ready.

FSHOOM!!!"Poachers! God dammit!" This was Ike. The deafening sound of a grenade in the temple behind them caused everyone to dive for cover. Abe slid the rack on his shotgun, and turned to Wilkes. "Do you want a gun now" He handed his pistol to the Southerner, who gladly accepted it. Abe, Wilkes, and two other guys were taking cover behind an ancient pillar that had collapsed sometime in the last 500 years. Ike and the other 3 science team were behind what looked like a large casket off to their right. In front of them was the long hallway they had entered through, and it was almost 50 yards to the entrance. Abe could see vague silhouettes darting through the opening. "Shit!" Ike again. "I count maybe 8 of them." He cocked his AK. "Abe, you have a radio?" Abe got the message and depressed the 'Call' button. "Chaz, Cabrenez, do you read?" He waited a second for the reply. "Abe? Abe? I can barely hear you, what the hell was that noi- ?""We're under attack! Call for help on the satellite phone, we've got heavily armed poachers-" "Abe? Abe? I can't hear you, you're too far into the cave I- static."Nothing. Abe pounded the pillar in front of him. He saw Ike was getting the grenades out of his pack while he handed his Beretta sidearm to a researcher. "Alright, everyone stay low and wait! Wait till I fire, they don't know where we are yet!" And so they waited for the sound of footsteps in the dark corridor.

Lucien gladly accepted the Beretta, not wanting to take out his MP7 and have to explain it to the guards. He stayed behind the cover of the pillar as he heard the footsteps get closer. It seemed Ike was ready with hand grenades, and the scientists were trying to act like they knew how to use the guns they held.
Angry Venezuelan voices could be heard as the small group of men walked towards the group. Their footsteps reverberated on the stone walls as they stomped onward.Lucien cradled the gun in his hands and wondered if Balance would make him do this again.

Snake ended up running straight for Mitzen's team. He rounded a corner and found himself staring at yet another group of men with guns held on him. He almost screamed, but stopped himself when he realized these guys weren't with the men chasing him. He recognized the Panhandle insignia on some of their gear.
"Don't shoot!" he dropped his pistol and held his hands up. "I don't know what's going on. I'm just an archeologist, I swear!" It wasn't a far-fetched lie. He certainly looked like a panicked scientist with no idea why he was being chased.

"Get down then, dammit! Sumbitches are headed right for us!"
Abe talking. He spoke in a harsh whisper, so as not to give away his position. Hurried Spanish could be heard not far down the hall. They couldn't be more than 30 yards away, but it was dark so no visual could be made by either team. That is, until the poachers pulled out flashlights. Several beams of light shot around the tunnel, one landing right on Wilkes's face. The holder of the flashlight shouted something in Spanish. Abe didn't wait for his group's reply.
"Shoot 'em!"
He fired his shotgun at the one who had found Wilkes. the beam of light lurched and flew backwards, illuminating it's holders bloodied torso, then fell to the ground. Ike fired his weapon, the poachers took cover and opened fire, and soon they had a firefight on their hands.
