For the setting, all I need to know is what book to use...
Then I can create a setting and describe it. As Grigori and Oct know, when it comes to the books we are covered. Though it is quite a large "investment."
Also, Ty, we can always MAKE a defenestration skill in GURPS.

Cool. Well, I'm up for any setting, but we should preferably aim for something we haven't done something similar to in RPs.

Oh. I just meant cause it's common ground.
I guess it's up to the GM. Speaking of which, is that you, Rakk, or are we gonna vote or something?

Well, alright, zombie setting would be the exception. I just thought it would be cool if we did something new, but I guess you can never go wrong with zombies.

Anyone that does not have all the fourth edition books PM me. Then once you see the settings you can tell me what you want.
I guess I will be GM... if I have to... I just want the setting to be fairly democratically chosen.

Verily, I dost reccommend a zombie-apocalypse setting, too. But why not blend it with Infinite Worlds? Be a bit like Marvel Zombies, in a sense. Just no super-powered zeds.

Forget the zombie stuff. Now that I think about it, it has been overdone. At least not a zombie-centric campaign, just throw a few in occasionally.
Infinite Worlds is a good one. But I think to avoid the whole world-hopping aspect, it makes my head spin. Or at least, if we do world hop, probably stick to just one or two Earths.
That's just my two cents. Long story short, call it a vote for Infinite Worlds. High Tech might be a good book to use in tangent.

I'm not against the whole banestorm thing, but it's bound to complicate things. For now, let's keep to one world with one fairly easy to follow timeline, at least until everyone's comfortable with the system. Just my two-and-a-half cents, though.

Well, even though I'd prefer a zombie setting, I'm cool with pretty much anything. So, so long as I get to have meaningful roleplay and a good deal of character depth, I'm cool.

What about a Kung-Fu Western with zombies and things of that nature thrown in? That way everyone is happy.

Make that a futuristic Kung-fu Western with zombies, and we're golden. EDIT: Just for the hell of it, can we throw in vampires and werewolves, too? They don't have to be in the main campaign, just establish that they do exist in the world.

Its sort of a strange wild western place infested with those critters. Also zombies so plenty of: Ty: I see zombies... lots and lots fo zombies. Scorp: Don't say that! Ty: Say what? Scorp: That, the zed word. Ty: Zed word? Scorp: Yeah no saying the zed word, we just don't say it. Also... futuristic wild fantasy kung-fu western? Lets see how that would work...

So a high-tech fantasy western kung-fu setting with supernatural elements?

I can see the high-tech western kung-fu space thing. 3 of those already go together several places, and adding kung-fu is easy. Adding supernatural elements would be easy, because you can just explain them as exotic space diseases or something. Zombies, werewolves, the whole shebang-a-bang.

If you read the GURPS ultra-tech book then you know it is from the mid to late 1800's to present in Technology. So Space would have to wait.
So if we play it pre-WWI then its easy to do the wild west thing. But if we do it later then it gets harder. Unless we go space using ultra tech, somewhere around T12 (the maximum) then we can just create a planet gone mad.

Oct form a perimeter around the Spam section now!
We need that place secure from you and your perimeter!
If any spam crosses your perimeter, shoot it dead.
As for the parameters, I'm not sure yet... I'm still designing the story/bad guys, so I know how much we will need.

Hell, if everyone could PM me or post their general ideas for their characters, such as gun fighter, melee combat tank, engineer, psicher, (sorry no magic, it may be fantasy, but no magic) pilot etc. And a brief backstory, no more than a paragraph that may help in my deciding of how many points to use. Also please tell me a suggested scenario you would like to find yourself in. Hypothetical Example: Grigori made a long range rifleman who uses a shotgun at short range. He would like to see a siege ala Rorke's Drift by zombies upon the group. Or Scorpio made a pilot/spy and would like to pull an emergency evac/save the ass of the group of players when a place is going to hell in a handbasket and everything thinks he has fled. Ala Aliens and Star Wars. You know, stuff so I can incorporate that into the story so everyone can have their moment to shine.

So I have a setting in mind, drawing up a general map so I have a good idea of places and sizes.
Though I am still blanking on guidelines for character creation. I am trying to think of a good number so we are all not super soldiers, but also good because I hope this will be a decent length campaign. I'm thinking between 100 and 200. With a max of between -50 and -75 on the disadvantages. Max 5 quirks.
