Any specifics on the setting? I'd need it for a background.

Lets see, what I expect we will need.
Pilot for vehicles, ground mostly, possibly air. Psicher for psi abilities as there is no magic. Melee Tank, for up close and personal encounters. Gun Slinger for obvious reasons. Grigori for the Trenchcape. Any combination of the above.
Space faring civilization. There is life in the universe, but sadly so far not intelligent life other than ourselves.
Where we are is a large planet, lush around the equator where it is heavily forested. Mostly rain forests. Which is the direct result of heavy terraforming. Outside of these regions though the planet is basically a dustball waiting to be terraformed. Some regions are deserts filled with acre upon acre of sands. Others are large grasslands which with enough work could become arable in a decade or less.
The planet holds one major colony, Arkhead, and plenty of other smaller ones. Mostly made up of towns and villages. Other than that there are many outposts working on the terraforming process and others mining the planet for minerals. All of this is funded by Clival Richterhess III the richest man in the galaxy. He holds a large palatial estate just outside Arkhead. Well the borders to his palatial estate do. His Manor is located many miles away and is kept up by several small to medium sized towns of his "employees."

No clue on the Planets name yet. But is that enough Grigori? Enough to get your trenchcape on?

Alright, I'm probably going to go with either the tank or the psi-guy. I'm leaning toward tank, unless someone else wants it. Rather than make a completely new character, I could base him off of my old DnD stand-by: Arengee, the loveably inept Paladin.

That should be just about enough. One more question, though- it's TL 12, but is that advanced technology widely available, or is the TL of the general populace lower?
As for my character, I've already told Rakk, but I'm going for sharpshooter. NOT sniper, sharpshooter. It's a trenchcape, not a trenchcoat, and I'm not gonna take people out from 2 miles away.

Yeah Grigori is going to take them out from 10 miles away. TL 12 for everyone, whatever amount of money you have you can buy weapons, though I don't think it will matter once the game starts as I already have a plan for that. And I cannot remember is it kosher for me to have a character... as acting GM... as I've never GM'd before, much less played a lot...

Oh yeah, I've got a couple of those. It's just that my guy is a soldier, and that's always bordering on trenchy territory. Though I think I've got more of a Saving Private Ryan type soldier going on than a Rambo type soldier. Think Tom Hanks's character if he lived to spend a few more years in the army. And it was 700 years into the future.

I should clarify that I only suggested that Rakk take an idea he already had and make a Gurps game of it.
Seriously, you guys should msn with him more and ask his ideas about stuff, it's better than pot
