What you're suggesting is kind of caught in a sort of Catch 22. If you make it too ineffective, it's deemed useless and gets shot down. If it's anywhere near worth using, it's too griefy and it gets... shot... down...

Why would a criminal go through the effort to steal something when he can just take shit?

10% isn't really much...it could always be 5%, or 1%. I have this one GBA game, chance to recruit a godly enemy is 1%. I got that a few times. Demikids? BOT: Criminals might work with the whole pickpocket thingy mayhaps, by success with "Pickpocketing" the criminal gains a randomly determined item (the good stuff sould be harder to get) and this gains the criminal XP. However, as the criminal would require someone/something to pickpocket from, there is always the consideration of attacking them instead, should they be proficient, or stealing if they're not. also the pickpocted individual could always attack the pickpocketer and gain XP from it too!

I dont think that cops would care about the law while zombies are about With the emphasis on bounty-hunting in this game, I'd have to say I disagree. On a side note, I'm thinking of putting this up on the wiki very soon. It's finally got a complete skill set, and I think most everything's sorted out correctly.

Shut up, seriously. *clears throat* Anyway, Heh, go ahead, Grig, although I'm afraid i think it probably wont do very well x.x this would be a buttload of extra work for Kevan for a start, and I've seen interesting ideas like this shot down for just that reason. Secondly, it would be adding a whole new class and fundamentally changing the game. Whats more, all the new crims would be lvl 1, while a lot of people already playing the game are maxed out level 40 +'s... which means that either the crims are going to get mashed, or we're going to have to d what Bitefight did and reset EVERYBODY down to level 1. And did we ever sort out what happens to dead crims? Turning into zombies doesn't really seem fair on the survivors.

Yeah, they'll turn into zeds. It's fair because there aren't a whole lot f zeds anyways, and the game really should have uneven odds towards survivors anyways.
I think you make a good point in that most crims would be killed very quickly, and be unable to defend themselves early on. In fact, that's the biggest irony in this entire suggestion. But, somehow, I think they'll manage. After all, being a newbie is hard all over, and though criminals have two sides trying to kill them, they're also extremely powerful and if they managed to stay alive, leveling would be quite easy. Though I do think the problem you stated is serious and that if anybody has any ideas on how to fix it, it would be appreciated.
As for the wiki voters... I think they can suck it up. It would be quite a bit of work for Kevan, but there are many ideas in PR that are just as, if not more, complicated.
