I believe in "ghosts," but not the creepy sentient ghosts. I believe that they are just electro-magnetic whoodly-diddly-wucha-doos that are left behind from the brain after death.

It's the African Americal way of saying "Alright" >.> Which is why I'm confused. For those of you just joining us, Fallen's a white Australian kid. That is a hell of a story though, Fallen. That's...odd then. I believe in "ghosts," but not the creepy sentient ghosts. I believe that they are just electro-magnetic whoodly-diddly-wucha-doos that are left behind from the brain after death. Ever see any? I believe they can only hurt us with a high electronic reading thingie myself.

I'm thinking of leaving a running tape recorder in my room while I sleep. I'm looking to kill 2 birds with one stone. On the one hand, I might pick up some EVPs if I'm lucky. On the other hand, I might be able to find out if I talk in my sleep. I think I've done that a few times, and just want to be sure.
Hey, there's an idea for you, lina. If you've got a video camera, set it up in your room and record yourself sleeping. Maybe that'll shed some light on what's happening to you.

While my family owns a tape recorder, it's my dads. We have no cameras.

I don't beleive in ghosts, but I beleive in hauntings. By "ghosts," I mean singular beings wandering around after death. Hauntings are something different, like in places where a lot of bad stuff has gone down and just becomes "tainted." Kinda like what Sams said.
As for zombies... well, they're not around yet, but I keep my shotgun handy, just in case.

I have a handgun and a couple hundred bullets ready for a zombie attack myself. I also have a sword, and a dagger.

Not necessarily "ghosts," but one of those places where it's always cold, or wierd shit happens for no apparent reason. And you later find out four or five people have been murdered there. Not singular ghosts, but definitely a stain. Or Shine. Or whatever.

In my opinion, no such things as ghosts. It is quite disheartening when the closest you get to a ghost is a thuggish youth calling round your house on Halloween with some Rice Krispies glued to his face. See I want to believe, but things like this happen which can make you very cynical very quickly.

I guess Europe is a pretty evil place, but I don't think the whole continent is haunted. I mean places where a real, deep-rooted, human evil took place. Places like a former slave warehouse or possibly a prison, or where several people have been murdered. Not just killed, by the way, like something impersonal, but multiple murders. Or maybe I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about. I've never had any real sort of ghost encounter, so I'm pretty inexperienced on the subject.

I have a sertan respect for the supernatural because it is all around where I live. My house is haunted bad. Stuff moves all the time by its self. No one else could haved moved it because I live alone and its not just stuff I misplaced. like a few daysago I looked in the cabnit for a bottle of cajun spice and looked back at the stove as I reached for it. Well it wasnt there as it had been when I looked it was on a different shelf.
I also believe I have Lycans living on my land. I find the occasional cow mutilated past what a wolf or even a pack could do. The footprints are to big and the bite marks are even bigger than that of a mountian lion. They have never bothered me personaly I believe we have a mutual understanding they get the occasional cow and a place to hide and I leave them alone. Just in case though I went ahead and made six silver hollowpoints for my .357 magnum.
With zombies in mind I have enough guns and ammo to keep them at bay for ever and I could arm every one on this board twice over. My liqour cabnet might run dry quickly though

That's some pretty awesome stuff. Mind takin some pictures next time something happens, for those of us at home? Not that I don't believe you, but that's the sort of thing you just have to see with your own two eyes, y'know?

Bad taste old bean. Europe isn't full of ghosts, I personally believe that it's just full of more superstitious people. Then again, America is full of Religious Fanatics (in their own words) who believe in Holy Ghosts, so it's horses for courses.

Like where Hitler killed the Jews? Oh yeah. I wouldn't even go near places like Aushvitz or anything like that if I had the choice. Bad taste old bean. Europe isn't full of ghosts, I personally believe that it's just full of more superstitious people. Then again, America is full of Religious Fanatics (in their own words) who believe in Holy Ghosts, so it's horses for courses. I didn't really mean it like that, but you've got to admit a lot of bad mojo went down in your neck of the woods. In terms of religous fanatics, that's pretty much just the Bible Belt. The rest of America is sadly just as godless as anywhere else. Yea no problem Grig I should be able to take some next weekend when I get my camera back. Awesome!

Well its pretty short and kinda obsure but ok: I was in bed sleeping, then I remember having some sorta nightmare which I cant recall but I know it was disturbing. Anywho all of the sudden I woke up to a weird unearthly sounding wispy-sound and my vision was completely obsured in a white nothingness while my breath was taken away. I couldn't breath, and my whole body felt so heavy and I couldn't move or try to cry out (in surprise not fear hahaha) no matter how hard I tried. I think my ears started to ring and the light began to fade until I saw my room again (I was lying on my right side facing the wall) then I was able to breath and move. The whole experience lasted for like 5 seconds and I remember feeling like "what the F*CK just happened?!" I didnt get to sleep again until walking around a bit cause I was feeling really strange. I know it couldn't be health related cause I'm one in-shape healthy guy, ask the forum veterans they've seen my pics. Just wondering... is it possible that happened while you were still asleep, or just waking up? I've heard of stuff like that happening before. When you go to sleep, there's this thing in your brain that shuts down your body so you won't move in your sleep. If you start to regain consciousness before that turns off, you could have a surreal experience like that. It happened to me a couple times. It's called sleep paralysis. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

Yes, a very common syndrome, often called 'Hag Syndrome', as a lot of sufferers report that an old woman is sat on their chest, preventing them from moving. Or was that the last time I went Amsterdam....I forget

Ah that's better. Not a me too post... sure its a bit old, but I'll let it slide. Welcome to the forums Wafuplayer.
But now to keep this topic rezzed and our posters high on revive...
Do I believe? Possibly. I don't deny it, but I don't support it either. But considering that I am a Zen Atheist... (I hold all rights to that term and its definition)
Ty: Then what is the Buddha?
Rakk: It is you.
Ty: I'm the Buddha?
Rakk: No... or as the Japanese say, MU!
Ty: Then what is the Buddha.
*Rakk holds up a stick*
Rakk: This stick is the Buddha.
*Rakk claps with one hand*

Well, since I didn't get in on this last time.....
Yes, I honestly think that the "supernatural" is real.
"But Oct," you might say. "Aren't you a Southern Baptist?"
This is the point where a Louisville slugger will connect with your skull, and I scream, "NO! Just a regular Baptist, moron!"
But, I am of the opinion that, if the good Lord can put such freaks as the human botfly, parasitic wasps, and some of the things that live in the ocean's depths, then it's not much of a stretch.
On top of this, the Bible often alludes to numerous occasions of the supernatural, including: demonic possession, sorcery, and a slew of other things.
So no, it's not weird for me at all to have a few wooden stakes inside my desk drawer. Nope. Not weird at all.....

Seeing as I'm a Catholic (lax though that may be), I'm kinda lead to contemplate the possibility of some sort of odd machinations beyond our own realm of existence. However, I don't believe that I could fathom what these might be or how they might function.
Do classic examples of the supernatural, such as zombies, werewolves, and vampires exist?
Most likely, no. There's very little possibility of that.
Does weird, unexplainable shit happen on a daily basis that just so happens to correlate with our own view of how spirits might work?
Yes. Yes it does. While that is far from proving anything, it is likely that whatever force causes any kind of supernatural activity is beyond the understanding of current scientific knowledge.
