news.aol.com/article/ohio-teen-killed-mom-over-video-game/302589Games are gonna get soooo much shit from ignorant politicians wanting to find an outlet for massive support. "Video games are bad, they're corrupting our children, they're blah blah this, they're blee blop that..." What ever happened to "crazy"? You can't be "crazy" no more?!

It's not a matter of crazy. The little shit killed his parents for taking away his game. At best, he was going through withdrawal symptoms typical of an addict and made a semi-impulsive decision to kill them. At worst, he's just a sick little shit who cares more about the game than his own parents.
You know, what bothers me is that no one bothers to bring up the logical question here: if a boy has reached age 17, and yet is still so immature as to be addicted to a videogame and lash out at his parents like that, could it possibly be that they are to blame? Halo is not responsible here. Bungie Studios didn't raise the kid for 17 years. The parents fail, the kid fails, end of story.
EDIT: Wow, I'm too pissed to stay here. Off to the blogs I go. Time for some ranting.

Well, at least the judge was smart enough to boot out his video game addiction insanity plea. The rest should wise up soon.
In the meantime, you americans might check on those video game censorship bills they keep trying to pass, even if they get overturned in the courts because of the unconstitutional aspects, it's still wasting your tax monies.

Y'know what's weird, is something like this just happened nearby. We have these neighbors, three houses down (which is half a mile out here), who are this disfunctional family with several boys, several older than 18 (2 I think). We're pretty sure them (the boys) were the ones that robbed us of all our power tools this one time. Anyways. Last Friday, the oldest of 'em was workin with the Dad on a truck in the garage, and for some reason he goes in the house, grabs a .32 caliber pistol, goes back out and shoots his Dad in the face 3 times. This guy, the son, has been in jail before, but I didn't know he was that whacked out. The Dad is alive, but in critical condition. The article is here, in case you're interested.
