Greetings, I'm a newb so forgive me if I'm bringing up a stale topic.
After playing UD for a few days, it seems to me an eventual zombie triumph is certain. Sure, their numbers are lowish now, but they have a tactical advantage. If they can ever get everyone into a state of zombiedom, then no-one will every be able to revive, since zombies can't revive zombies.
Humans can't do the same thing. If everyone gets revived somehow, everyone who wants to go back to being a zombie will just jump off the nearest tall building. The zombies will be back in a few clicks.
Ok, so in reality the players who like being humans will just start up new human characters. Kind of cheating in a way though.
So, if we stick to roleplaying and people don't just start new human characters because they are stuck as a zombie, then zombies will eventually rule the town unchallenged.
I think this should be a great motivation for zombie players.

The group Extinction is based solely on this prospect. Their goal is to ransack and occupy Necrotech buildings top prevent humans from reviving. However, not only do humans cheat to prevent this, but zerging is viewed as the only method to accomplish this goal, seeing as actual zombie players (not just Mrh?-cows) are in very sort supply. That basically prevents either side from "roleplaying" as you said, and also prevents much of any progress on either side.

I'll have to look into Extinction then.
The shortage of career zombies is a bit of a problem really. If it weren't for PKers, there'd be no fear in playing as a human at all.
(Speaking of PKers, I think they fit the zombie genre quite well. Most zombie flicks end up with other murderous humans as the main problem.)
I started playing with the goal of being a desperate human trying to survive, but that's too easy. So I'm going play a bunch of alt career zombies as well. (without zerging, of course.) I'll send each of the four to a different quandrant of the map. The human will seek to eliminate all zombies and PKers from his quadrant. But the zombies will seek to eliminate all humans from their quandrants.
Perhaps more people should do that. Maybe concentrate on trying to have a surving human in one corner, but 3 murderous zombies in the other corners. A zombie apocalypse should have zombies outnumbering humans, afterall.

I take back saying it was too easy to survive as a human. It seems every day I wake up now the building I was in has been broken into by zombies who've then dragged me into the street and killed me!

I commend you on your decision to play career zombies. There really are not enough in the city. The way the game is currently set up the only way for a baby zombie to get a leg up is to join a group where veterans open the barricades for you and help you tenderize the meat. Another good option right now for all zombies is The Second Big Bash. I also advise making a pilgrimage to the zombie homeland in Ridleybank at some point. It is an experience no zombie should go without. Barhah! (I'd feel bad about sticking a revive needle in this thread from a month ago but someone else did it first, so oh well)

As long as you add something with some content it's nothing to worry about.
BOT, I think I'll look into the Big Bash this time around. My zed was in the last Mall Tour (actually helped name one of the strike groups), and he's been looking forward to some action. I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about it before, though. Wish you'd started a thread here earlier.

That's surprising that you hadn't heard about it. In less than a month we have completely ruined 11 suburbs and are finishing off our 3rd mall. We've turned the southwest from green to red. We have participation from all the major hordes except the Militant Order of Barhah and we have several hundred participants. Coordination takes place here or you can follow along on the wiki.

Lina, as a 2-3rds pro-survivor and 2 year veteran of Urban Dead, I can tell you that if the zombie's want to move in, they will. And there's nothing you can do about it except
a. Move or b. Die, and hold up revive points, thus further hurting the human war effort
So I urge all survivors in the southwest to get THE HELL OUTTA DODGE.
As a zombie, I encourage you to all gather in the nearest mall and valiantly go outside and shoot the zombies sieging your home. ;D

How does a zombie shoot...?

Er... that's not what I meant. I actually meant that myself as a zombie, I would like you all to abandon the barricades and take the fight to the undead sieging your home.
Literally, I would imagine it takes a few tries for them to find the trigger.

Whats this? A zombie rampage through the southeast? Could have fooled me, theres sodall going on there at the moment. Thought its good to see, the southeast is ALLWAYS neglected and i feel like im the only zombie down there who's even trying.
By the way, if there are any Zeds in Edgecome anytime, head on down to the pub. the Edgecome families are taunting me in there with their inpenetrability, and i need backup...

I'm a die-hard, if not obtinate, role player. I have been playing Urban Dead off and on for years and have found it's upper echelon to be not only "human biased", but so socially political that it is unfriendly to role-players.
The reason why a zombie takeover is inevitable is not because of game logistics, but because the human players are a bunch whiney brats who are more focused on strengthing clans and climbing social ladders than just playing the game. When they finally tire of arguing made up rules, exploiting game loop holes, and censoring user comments, us zombies will still be beating down the doors.

Nope, because the ppl who are tired with death will make alts, get that last 100 exp for the syringe usage, and revive themselves. Then they revive someone, then they revive someone, until you have a fort of revivees and revivers. Also, new ppl who want to be Human will seek out this area.
